German boy is the project name for a series of stills for Hand Made in Germany World Tour, This trade show of 200+ premium manufacturers in a gallery ambientated presentation was programed as a tour spaning three continents. Hand Made in Germany is masterminded by Katja Kleiss and Pascal Johanssen of Direktorenhaus Berlin. The exhibition has a strong emphasis on art and luxury personal items.
The images are used in non-german speaking countries only to promote the exhibition in its target markets. We wanted to create a look that was slightly overdrawn and covered a number of qualities that evolved around the german identity, cultural heritage, contemporary Berlin, and its perception in the world.
How do "the germans" see themselves internationally, how do they want to be seen, what is the perception of germans in the world? German boy is our visual statement to this question. Intercultural dialogue.
